Mission Overview
"Cop Land" is a stealth-and-shooting mission for Ken Rosenberg in Grand Theft Auto: Vice City, unlocked after completing earlier Ken Rosenberg missions. Unlike most Vice City missions, this one revolves around maintaining a disguise rather than brute-force combat — which is exactly why so many players get caught off guard.
Objective
- Travel to the Vice City Police Department.
- Steal a police disguise without alerting nearby officers.
- Retrieve evidence from inside the station.
- Escape without blowing your cover or triggering a wanted level.
Simple Steps to Pass the Mission Easily
Getting the disguise Approach the police station area carefully. The mission requires you to obtain a police uniform, and getting spotted while doing so instantly increases difficulty by drawing unwanted attention. Move slowly near patrol routes and use cover where the game allows.
Inside the station Once disguised, most NPCs will treat you as a fellow officer — but this is not permanent immunity. Running, sprinting, or acting suspiciously near guards can still blow your cover. Walk at a normal pace through hallways and only draw your weapon once the evidence room is confirmed clear of witnesses.
Grabbing the evidence The objective marker leads to a specific room inside the station. Interact with the marked evidence to trigger the next phase of the mission.
The escape Once you have the evidence, alarms are likely to trigger regardless of how careful you were. At this point, treat it like any standard Vice City combat mission — fight or run to your parked vehicle and put distance between yourself and the station immediately. Losing a 2-star wanted level is straightforward if you turn several corners and get out of the cops' direct sightline.
Common Mistakes to Avoid
- Sprinting inside the station while disguised — this is the #1 reason players get caught early.
- Forgetting to bring a getaway vehicle close to the station entrance before starting.
- Engaging in gunfights inside tight corridors — retreat to open streets where you can use vehicles to escape.
Why This Mission Matters
Completing "Cop Land" progresses Ken Rosenberg's mission chain and unlocks further story missions tied to the Vice City underworld plot. It's also one of the better missions to practice stealth-adjacent gameplay before Vice City's later, more chaotic story missions.
